Agadir – BTR New Material Group has expressed strong satisfaction with the steady progress of its industrial projects in Morocco, reaffirming the group’s growing confidence in the country’s position as a strategic hub for advanced manufacturing and electric mobility technologies.
This assessment was shared during the first steering committee held at the Tanger Tech Industrial Acceleration Zone, dedicated to the Group’s cathode and anode projects currently under development in the country.
“The executives of BTR New Material Group expressed their satisfaction with the steady pace of progress of the projects, while also emphasizing the Group’s prospects for developing new industrial projects in Morocco,” said Morocco’s Minister in charge of Investment and Evaluation of Public Policies, Karim Zidane.
According to the company’s leadership, the pace of implementation reflects a well-structured industrial rollout, with the projects advancing in line with planned timelines.
The group noted that this momentum reinforces its outlook for further industrial expansion in Morocco, particularly in sectors linked to electric mobility and next-generation battery technologies.
Beyond the ongoing projects, BTR New Material Group also expressed its interest in exploring new investment opportunities within the country. This includes potential developments in technologies supporting the global transition toward electric vehicles, an area in which Morocco is increasingly positioning itself as a competitive and integrated industrial platform.
The projects under development represent a significant investment estimated at MAD 6 billion ($650 million) and are expected to generate more than 1,150 direct jobs. They are scheduled to begin production in 2026, marking a key milestone in the consolidation of Morocco’s emerging electric battery ecosystem.
This initiative “fully aligned with the country’s ambition to strengthen its position as a competitive industrial platform integrated into global value chains in green industries and advanced technologies,” Zidane concluded.
