Casablanca — King Mohammed VI, Amir Al Mouminine, performed the Eid Al-Adha prayer on Wednesday at the Ahl Fès Mosque in the Mechouar in Rabat, according to the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol, and Chancellery.
The prayer was broadcast live on national radio and television starting at 10:30 a.m. On arrival, King Mohammed VI reviewed a detachment of the Royal Guard that paid honors.
Heads of Islamic diplomatic missions accredited to Morocco then greeted the King and offered their Eid wishes. King Mohammed VI later performed the ritual sacrifice, following the tradition of Prophet Mohammed, while artillery shots were fired to mark the occasion. The mosque imam then slaughtered the second sacrifice.
