GBB Investment Summit in Rabat to Discuss Morocco’s Fast-Growing Investment Opportunities

Rabat – Rabat will host the GBB Investment Summit, convening top regional and international investors to discuss the North African country’s fast-accelerating investment climate, especially its real estate and hospitality expansion.

A statement from the summit’s organizers announced that the summit will take place on June 9 at the Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr, with a focus on emerging capital opportunities and the country’s strategic positioning ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

“In the lead-up to FIFA World Cup 2030, the country is advancing one of the region’s most significant hospitality and real estate expansion programs, supported by billions in infrastructure investment, expanding air connectivity, and a national target of 26 million visitors annually by decade’s end,” the press release said.

The summit promises a diverse lineup of guests and participants, including senior investors, operators, hotel groups, and strategic advisors active in the real estate and hospitality sectors.

The event, by invitation only and limited to senior decision-makers, brings together participants whose mandates align with Morocco’s investment landscape.

Ravi Kumar Chandran, Founder and Managing Director at GBB, expressed satisfaction with Morocco’s business climate, stressing that the development witnessed in the country is not merely a forecast.

“Capital is moving, decisions are being made, and those who arrive early to these conversations are the ones who shape outcomes rather than react to them. Infrastructure, tourism, hospitality, and real estate are all advancing within the same window, and the 2030 cycle has made that window finite,” Chandran said.

The founder of GBB stressed how investors emphasized the importance of the summit, stressing the importance of the exchange of expertise and ideas between the right people in the right conversation.

“With SMIT as our Institutional Partner, we are bringing this group together in Rabat at the moment it matters most,” he added.

The summit’s agenda will tackle key forces shaping investment, with discussions delving into how investors make decisions today.

It will also explore how Morocco’s development pipeline aligns, or seeks to align, with global capital expectations.

Panels as part of the summit will also discuss global expectations, capital flows, and legal frameworks, among other topics.

Industry leaders from different sectors will be present, including Imad Barrakad, CEO, Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development – SMIT; Khalid Chami, Group CFO, Ali & Sons Holding LLC; Sofia Lopez Benhamida, CEO & Member of the Executive Board, RISMA; and Thomas Pellerin, Hub Leader, Maghreb & West Africa, Industrials and Services, International Finance Corporation.

The summit is also bringing together Jihane Errachidi, Chief Investment and Strategy Officer, Al Ajial Holding; Hassan Laaziri, President of AMIC; and Christophe Bachelet, Country Managing Partner, Morocco, DLA Piper.

Last year, Morocco ranked second in Africa and the Arab world in the World Bank’s second Business Ready 2025. This means that Morocco improved its business climate indicators,  a development that boosts the country’s attractiveness for both local and international investors.
