Rabat – Achraf Hakimi scored Morocco’s first equalizer in the 39th minute of the Atlas Lions’ final Group C match of the World Cup against Haiti.
The right-back gave Morocco a well-deserved goal after Haiti had taken the lead in the 10th minute of the first half.
Hakimi broke the deadlock for the Atlas Lions with a beautiful finish, bringing Morocco back into the game.
Morocco’s Atlas Lions had created several opportunities before the goal but were unable to capitalize. The team also made a number of defensive mistakes, allowing Haiti to find space and threaten Yassine Bounou’s goal.
Minutes after Hakimi’s equalizer, Haiti struck again to restore its lead. Wilson Isidor earned the applause for another impressive display as Haiti continued to challenge Morocco.
Many expected the match to be an easy one for the Atlas Lions. However, that was far from the case. Morocco’s defense looked weaker than in previous games, while missed chances and several lineup changes made the task more difficult.
Of course, coach Mohamed Ouahbi made changes with the bigger picture in mind, knowing that even tougher challenges await in the knockout stage.
Just a few minutes after Haiti’s second goal, Ismael Saibari scored Morocco’s second equalizer, once again bringing the Atlas Lions level.
The match remained exciting until the final moments of first-half stoppage time. It was a thrilling encounter and one that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
Haiti was determined to make its people proud despite already being eliminated from the tournament, but the Atlas Lions, led by players such as Hakimi, remained united in their response.
