Rabat – Maghreb de Fès has reached a final agreement to sign Moroccan defender Abdellah Khafifi following his departure from Raja Club Athletic.
The Fez-based club is preparing to announce the transfer after completing the remaining administrative procedures. Khafifi had agreed to a two-year contract on a free transfer.
Who is Abdellah Khafifi?
Born in Oujda on February 19, 1993, Khafifi is a right-footed centre-back. He began his senior career with his hometown club, Mouloudia Oujda, where he established himself as an experienced Botola defender.
Khafifi remained with Mouloudia Oujda until 2022 before moving abroad to join Qatar Stars League side Umm Salal SC.
After one season in Qatar, he returned to Morocco and signed for Raja in the summer of 2023. He became a regular part of the Casablanca club’s defence and wore the number five shirt.
Khafifi was part of the Raja squad that won the 2023–2024 Botola Pro title without losing a league match. The Green Eagles also defeated AS FAR to complete a domestic league and Throne Cup double.
The defender has also featured for Morocco’s locally based national team. Royal Moroccan Football Federation records show him among the players selected and used in matches and training camps between 2019 and 2021.
Khafifi left Raja following three seasons with the club. His experience in Moroccan football and continental competitions is expected to provide Maghreb de Fès with greater depth in central defence.
Maghreb de Fès is strengthening its squad after winning the 2025–2026 Botola Pro title and securing qualification for the next CAF Champions League. The championship was the club’s fifth league crown and its first in more than four decades.
