Rabat – Juventus have reportedly renewed their interest in signing Real Madrid attacker Brahim Díaz as the Italian club assesses possible reinforcements during the summer transfer window.
According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Frederic Massara is working to reopen the file on the Morocco international after recently joining Juventus’ leadership team.
Juventus officially appointed Massara as chief football officer on July 7. He is responsible for overseeing the men’s football division and works alongside sporting director Marco Ottolini on the club’s sporting strategy.
Massara knows Diaz well from his period as an executive at AC Milan. The Moroccan spent three consecutive seasons with the Rossoneri after initially joining on loan from Real Madrid in September 2020.
Milan later brought him back on another temporary agreement covering the following two campaigns.
Diaz became an important member of the Milan squad and helped the club win the Serie A title in the 2021-2022 season before returning to Real Madrid in 2023.
Competition for places at Real Madrid
Juventus reportedly believe Diaz’s opportunities in Madrid could become more limited because of the level of competition in the club’s attacking positions.
Real Madrid are also negotiating with RB Leipzig over a possible transfer for Côte d’Ivoire winger Yan Diomande. However, no agreement or official signing had been announced, and the Bundesliga club’s high valuation remains an obstacle.
Any possible Diomande arrival would add another attacking option, but it does not automatically mean that Real Madrid have decided to sell Diaz.
The 26-year-old remains listed as a first-team player on Real Madrid’s official website.
He made his 150th appearance for the Spanish club in March and reached 100 La Liga games for Madrid the following month, underlining his established role within the squad.
Juventus could consider a loan arrangement similar to the formula previously used by Milan, although current FIFA rules limit an international loan to a maximum duration of one year. The clubs would therefore need to find a different structure if Juventus sought longer-term control over the player.
For now, Juventus’ pursuit remains a reported possibility rather than an advanced or completed transfer. There has been no official announcement of negotiations between the clubs, and Díaz has not publicly indicated that he wants to leave Real Madrid.
The Moroccan international’s familiarity with Serie A could make him an attractive option for Juventus, but any deal would depend on Real Madrid’s valuation, the proposed transfer formula and the player’s willingness to begin another spell in Italian football.
