Rabat – Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts hot weather and thunderstorms across several provinces in Morocco from Friday to Sunday.
Temperatures will range between 45 and 47 degrees Celsius in the provinces of Oued Eddahab, Boujdour, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Taroudant, Tata, and Zagora from Friday to Sunday.
Temperatures between 42 and 45 degrees will hit several other provinces, including Fquih Ben Salah, El Kelaa Sraghna, Beni Mellal, Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, Marrakech, Rehamna, Youssoufia, Khénifra, and Taounate.
The same weather conditions will affect Ouezzane, Meknes, Fez, Moulay Yacoub, Sidi Kacem, Khouribga, Settat, Chichaoua, Khemisset, Guercif, Taza, and other inland areas in Laayoune, Tarfaya, Guelmim, and Tan-Tan.
Essaouira and Safi will experience temperatures between 39 and 42 degrees.
Morocco’s weather office also expects temperatures between 40 and 45 degrees in other provinces, including Sidi Slimane, Benslimane, Chtouka Ait Baha, Sidi Bennour, Berrechid, and Kenitra.
Temperatures between 39 and 42 degrees will affect Tiznit, Sidi Ifni, Inezgane Ait Melloul, and El Jadida during the same period.
The weather office expects thunderstorms, accompanied by hail and strong winds, from Friday afternoon to 11 p.m. in the provinces of Aousserd and Oued Ed-Dahab. Rainfall is expected between 40 and 50 millimeters.
Similar weather conditions are expected in the provinces of Boulemane, Guercif, and Figuig, with rainfall between 20 and 30 millimeters.
