Rabat – Moroccan international Soufiane Rahimi and his younger brother Houssine Rahimi headline the shortlist for the 2025-26 UAE Pro League Awards, underlining another standout season for the siblings with Al Ain.
The UAE Pro League announced the finalists for its annual end-of-season awards ahead of the ceremony, scheduled for Monday, August 10, at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi.
Soufiane Rahimi is among the three nominees for the Golden Ball, awarded to the league’s best player, alongside his Al Ain teammates Matías Palacios and Kodjo Laba.
The Moroccan forward also earned a nomination for the Fans’ Player of the Year award, where he will compete against Al Wasl’s Nicolás Giménez and Al Ain defender Rami Rabia.
Houssine Rahimi, meanwhile, received two nominations of his own. The 23-year-old has been shortlisted for the Best Young Player (Under 23) award alongside Al Ain teammate Abdul Karim Traoré and Al Nassr’s Abdullah Toure.
He is also in contention for the Goal of the Season award, with one of his strikes making the final three alongside goals from Al Ain’s Alejandro Romero and Al Wasl’s Sergio Pereira.’
Although Soufiane Rahimi missed out on the Golden Boot, the award was secured by Al Ain striker Kodjo Laba after finishing the league campaign with 25goals.
The ceremony will also recognize winners across several statistical categories, including the top scorers in domestic competitions and the unveiling of the season’s Best XI.
The Rahimi brothers’ nominations add to a growing list of individual honors for Moroccan players in Gulf football, with Soufiane continuing to establish himself as one of the UAE Pro League’s standout performers while Houssine cements his place among the league’s brightest young talents.
