Agadir – Princess Lalla Meryem received today at the Royal Guest Palace in Rabat children from Jerusalem participating in the 17th edition of the summer camps organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency.
Held under the instructions of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, the initiative reflects Morocco’s continued support for the Holy City of Al-Quds and its inhabitants, particularly children and other vulnerable groups.
The 2026 edition, themed “Manarat Assalam” (Lighthouse of Peace), runs from August 12 to 26 and brings together 50 girls and boys from Jerusalem, aged between 11 and 14, accompanied by five supervisors from the Holy City.
The program includes educational trips, artistic and sports competitions, and cultural visits alongside Moroccan children. It also featured the second session of the summer school in Skhirate ahead of the launch of the official activities.
During the reception, Princess Lalla Meryem was greeted by Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, director in charge of managing the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, as well as the supervisors and participating children.
She later posed for a commemorative photograph before presiding over a reception hosted by King Mohammed VI in honor of the Jerusalem children.
The children also presented Princess Lalla Meryem with commemorative gifts.
Echarkaoui, meanwhile, presented her with a summary book documenting the 17 editions of the summer camps organized since 2008.
According to the Agency, the program has benefited a total of 850 children from different districts of Jerusalem, accompanied by 85 supervisors. The participants have visited various regions of Morocco and experienced the solidarity of Moroccans with the Palestinian people.
The summer camps form part of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency’s broader efforts to support Jerusalem and its residents through projects targeting social, educational, cultural, and humanitarian needs.
