Rabat– King Mohammed VI received Mustapha Baitas, Minister Delegate in Charge of Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesperson, who presented a review of the government’s work with Parliament during the fifth legislative year of the 11th legislature.
The meeting followed the King’s speech on Friday, October 9, at the opening of the first session of the first legislative year of the 12th legislature, in which he called on the new legislative and governmental term to mark a turning point in Morocco’s development.
In his address to members of both chambers of Parliament, the King stressed the need to balance economic growth with greater social and territorial justice. He also called for a new generation of strategies in water, energy and food security, industrial development, the digital economy, and artificial intelligence.
The monarch further urged the private sector to play a greater role in investment, innovation, exports, and job creation. He also emphasized the importance of placing youth issues at the forefront of public policies, with a focus on education, skills development, and economic integration.
During his meeting with the King, Baitas presented the government’s record in its relations with Parliament over the fifth legislative year of the 11th legislature.
The review covered the government’s parliamentary activities, including oversight and legislative work, Baitas said in a statement to the press.
Legislative activity had recorded notable performance, contributing to the reforms led by King Mohammed VI, he added.
Baitas also highlighted the government’s engagement with oversight initiatives raised by members of the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors, stressing that this interaction demonstrated the government’s responsiveness to parliamentary initiatives and supported the work of the legislative institution.
The review covered the executive branch’s institutional relations with Parliament during the fifth year of the 11th legislature, while the King’s latest address set out priorities for the new legislative and governmental term.
