Tan-Tan – Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced plans to open a new luxury resort in Tangier.
The Four Seasons Resort Tangier will be located in the Cap Malabata district, overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean coastline. The project is being developed in partnership with Royal Resort Cap Malabata, a luxury development company backed by Bahrain-based GFH Financial Group.
According to the announcement, the resort will feature 99 guest rooms and suites, including 27 standalone villas. The property will also include more than 260 meters of waterfront, with panoramic views of the sea and the Spanish coastline.
Designed by Arjitec, with interiors by British design studio Goddard Littlefair, the resort will offer four dining venues, a spa, a fitness center and several swimming and waterfront leisure areas. It will also include facilities for meetings, celebrations, and other events.
The resort is expected to be about 15 minutes from Tangier’s high-speed train station and 45 minutes from Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport. Four Seasons did not specify an opening date in its announcement.
The Tangier project will be Four Seasons’ fourth property in Morocco, joining its existing hotels and resorts in Casablanca, Marrakech, and Rabat.
The company said the new development aims to reflect Tangier’s coastal setting and cultural heritage while strengthening its position as an international travel destination.
“We look forward to bringing this exceptional project to life and creating a Resort that reflects the character of Tangier,” said Ricardo Suarez, Four Seasons’ group head of development, in the announcement.
Tangier has attracted growing interest from tourism and real estate investors, thanks to its location near Europe, its international transport connections, and its cultural heritage.
The city offers access to the Strait of Gibraltar, historic sites, traditional markets, and coastal areas. Its high-speed rail connection to cities including Rabat and Casablanca also makes it more accessible to domestic and international visitors.
The addition of another international luxury hospitality brand could expand the city’s high-end accommodation options and support efforts to attract visitors seeking premium travel experiences.
However, the announcement did not disclose the project’s total investment value, expected employment figures, or projected contribution to local tourism revenues.
