Lamine Yamal Leads Champions League Chance Creation Rankings, Brahim Diaz Third

Rabat – Barcelona’s young Spanish star Lamine Yamal leads the rankings for big chances created in the current UEFA Champions League campaign, while Moroccan international Brahim Diaz has secured third place, according to the latest statistics published by football analytics platform Squawka.

Yamal has created four big chances in the competition so far, sharing the highest total with Cameroonian winger Ivan Dybango, who plays for Austrian club LASK Linz.

Both players have recorded the same number of chances, although Dybango holds an advantage in the ranking because he has played fewer minutes.

Brahim Diaz third

Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s Moroccan midfielder Brahim Diaz occupies third place with three big chances created, highlighting his contribution to his team’s attacking play in Europe’s most prestigious club competition.

The Moroccan international shares the same total with several established European footballers, including Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans, French forward Ousmane Dembele of Paris Saint-Germain, and Spanish playmaker Isco of Real Betis.

The statistics place Diaz among the competition’s most productive players in terms of creating clear scoring opportunities for teammates.

His presence near the top of the rankings also underlines his ability to contribute offensively, particularly through his movement, technical skills, and passing in the final third.

Yamal Continues to Impress in Europe

Yamal’s position at the top of the rankings follows another impressive performance in Barcelona’s recent Champions League encounter against Turkish side Galatasaray.

The Spanish international provided two assists during Barcelona’s 4-1 victory, helping the Catalan club secure another important result in the competition.

His contributions played a key role in Barcelona’s attacking performance, with the team collecting maximum points from its opening two matches of the league phase.

Despite his young age, Yamal continues to establish himself among Europe’s leading attacking talents, combining creativity with the ability to influence matches through decisive passes and individual performances.

Real Madrid players feature among Europe’s leading creators

Beyond Diaz’s third-place position, another Real Madrid player has also appeared among the leading chance creators.

Turkish international Arda Guler ranks seventh with two big chances created, sharing the same total with several other players competing in the tournament.

The group includes Arsenal’s German international Kai Havertz, Paris Saint-Germain’s French youngster Desire Doue, and Colombian winger Tajon Buchanan of Villarreal.

The rankings highlight the importance of creativity in the Champions League, where the ability to produce clear scoring opportunities can make a significant difference between competing teams.

This record adds another impressive individual statistic to Diaz’s European campaign.

The Moroccan international continues to compete for opportunities at Real Madrid, where attacking positions feature several high-profile players.

His ability to create chances could strengthen his case for more playing time, particularly as the Spanish club continues its Champions League campaign.
