Rabat- Besiktas have renewed their interest in Moroccan international Chemsdine Talbi as they look to boost their attacking options during the winter transfer window.
According to Turkish outlet Sporx, Besiktas are exploring the possibility of signing Talbi on loan rather than paying a permanent transfer fee.
The report indicates that Sunderland value the player at around €20 million, making a loan move a possible alternative for the Turkish side, which are also looking to strengthen their midfield and defensive midfield positions ahead of the second half of the season.
Talbi joined Sunderland from Belgian side Club Brugge in July 2025. However, his opportunities in the Premier League have been limited at the start of the 2026-27 campaign.
The 21-year-old winger has made one Premier League appearance this season, coming off the bench, while also featuring in Sunderland’s League Cup campaign.
He scored in Sunderland’s 1-0 League Cup victory over Hull City in September, but has not established himself as a fundamental player in the squad.
The situation could open the door to a move elsewhere for the young winger, although no agreement between Sunderland and Besiktas has been reported.
Talbi developed through Club Brugge’s youth system before breaking into the Belgian club’s first team. He later moved to England as he continued his development.
Talbi’s potential move to Besiktas would offer him a possible route to more regular playing time, in the case the Turkish club reaches an agreement with Sunderland.
The reported interest remains at the transfer-rumour stage. Any potential deal will depend on the clubs’ negotiations and Sunderland’s willingness to let the Morocco international leave, even temporarily.
