Morocco’s government spokesperson and Minister of National Territorial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing, and City Policy, Samir Belfkih, said the government’s swift handling of the appointment of Madiha Khayr as minister delegate in charge of vocational training and qualification reflects its institutional responsibilities and commitment to completing the constitutional process of forming the government.
In a statement, Belfkih said the government had addressed Khayr’s appointment and the circulation of personal judicial and medical information related to the case.
He explained that the decision followed a political and institutional assessment shared by the components of the governing majority. The assessment, he said, reflected their common determination to ensure the government’s success, refocus public debate on its program and citizens’ expectations, and uphold the general interest.
In this context, the head of government submitted a request to King Mohammed VI to terminate Khayr’s duties as minister delegate, exercising the constitutional powers vested in the head of government, particularly under Article 47, paragraph four, of the Constitution.
The King approved the request, according to the statement issued by the Royal Cabinet on the matter.
Belfkih added that the government’s swift response demonstrated its commitment to creating the conditions necessary to complete the constitutional process of its formation through parliamentary investiture.
He said the government would then be able to focus on implementing its program and fulfilling its commitments to Moroccan citizens.
