Doha – Best Health has announced the appointment of Adnane Zerhouni as its new Chief Executive Officer as part of the company’s growth acceleration strategy.

The appointment comes as Best Health seeks to “reinforce its leadership in the African healthcare sector by offering increasingly effective solutions adapted to the needs of healthcare establishments and professionals,” according to the company’s press release.

Zerhouni brings nearly 20 years of experience in investment and business development across Africa. His expertise is expected to help accelerate innovation and structure the group’s next expansion phase.

Best Health has established itself as a major provider of medical solutions in Africa through its portfolio of specialized subsidiaries. The group is committed to delivering cutting-edge equipment, technologies, and services to healthcare facilities including hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and specialized physicians.

The company operates through several specialized subsidiaries across different African countries. In Morocco, these include SCRIM (hospital equipment and medical imaging), Soma Medical (implantable medical devices), Mabiotech (in vitro diagnostics and laboratory solutions), and Saiss Environnement (medical waste management and treatment).

The group has also expanded its presence to other African countries with TMS in Tunisia, MTS in Senegal, and Ivocare in Ivory Coast, all specializing in hospital equipment, medical imaging, and radiotherapy.

Through this organizational structure, Best Health aims to “consolidate its commitment to more accessible and efficient healthcare by integrating innovation, expertise, and proximity to meet the specific needs of healthcare stakeholders across the African continent.”

The company has marked several important achievements in African healthcare since 2000, including introducing the first active stent for coronary heart disease treatment in Morocco and implementing the first cardiac electrophysiology case in the country using ABBOTT radio frequency equipment.

Other notable milestones include installing the first Elekta accelerator in Morocco at the National Institute of Oncology in 2004 and establishing the first radiosurgery system (GammaKnife Perfexion) in the Maghreb and West Africa region in 2008.

Best Health has continued its pioneering role by implementing the first 3T MRI in Africa at the National Institute of Oncology in 2014 and installing Africa’s first Hybrid Operating Room at the Military Hospital in Rabat in 2017.
