Rabat – As speculations grow over the fate of Morocco’s international player Azzedine Ounahi, Marseille’s president, Pablo Longoria, put an end to rumors suggesting the player would be leaving the club in the upcoming transfer window.

“Move along, there’s nothing… for sale,” Longoria reportedly said during a press conference in response to ongoing rumors concerning the possibility of Ounahi’s departure from Olympique de Marseille (OM).

The club president emphasized his satisfaction with Ounahi’s performance, stating: “Azzedine Ounahi is not for sale. We are very satisfied with him; he is progressing well.”

The midfielder recently showcased his sporting excellence alongside teammate Amine Harit during the OM-Rennes match, where the French club won 2-0.

Converging reports have speculated that the Moroccan player is on the radar of multiple clubs in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and even the Premier League, for potential future signings.

However, Longoria asserted during the press conference that Ounahi will remain part of the Ligue 1 club until 2027.

Ounahi, currently playing in San Pedro, Ivory Coast, with the Atlas Lions, is set to participate in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Walid Regragui has called up the talented player, and Ounahi is expected to be part of the team in the tournament which is starting on Saturday.

OM signed Ounahi a year ago following his stellar performance with the national football team in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ounahi has also been instrumental to Morocco’s historical run in the World Cup which culminated in the team finishing in fourth place, marking a precedent for Africa and the Arab world.

The French team signed the 23-year-old midfielder for approximately €10 million, in a move that was largely considered by experts as both financially savvy and strategically ben
