Rabat – Through the Compulsory Health Insurance program (AMO), non-salaried employees who have unpaid contributions to the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) for a minimum of three months starting in November 2023 and earlier, are now eligible to get a cancellation of their debts.
As announced by the CNSS in a press release on Monday, this measure is in application of law N° 41.23 on April 12, 2023 which deals with the cancellation of debts relating to contributions, late payment penalties, and prosecution costs.
Benefiting from this measure are professionals, self-employed workers, and self-employed persons who are exercising a liberal activity.
The same source stated that self-employed workers who want to benefit from this measure’s provisions, have to start making payments due from December 2023, in order to be eligible from January to April 2024.
They are also required to make regular payments for a full year beginning in the month that self-employed people make their first payment.
According to the press release, self-employed workers who are qualified for cancellation will have to go through a three-month probationary period before they can receive the required basic health insurance, which will begin in the month of their first paymen
In addition, CNSS made it clear that payment of current contributions is made via the electronic link dedicated to self-employed workers or through local points.
CNSS has also set up a telephone number (3939) for workers who wish to explore more about this measure.
In line with its declared goal of expediting administrative procedures and consistently improving its services, CNSS recently announced a dematerialized system for tracking the lives of its beneficiaries in 2023.
This new approach is based on the electronic sharing of essential data with affiliated institutions and government authorities. The method is intended to verify pension recipients’ eligibility without requiring their physical presence for standard administrative duties.
