Rabat – InDrive, the worldwide mobility and urban services platform, has announced the opening of a new initiative aimed at encouraging individuals with physical disabilities to join the platform as drivers.
In addition to directly benefiting drivers, inDrive’s inclusive attitude and readiness to offer chances to people with special needs also help to create a more varied and inclusive workplace.
The case of Badr el Din
With the primary goal of supporting the Moroccan driving community, InDrive has declared its support for 24-year-old driver and Tangier resident Badr el Din.
The company has offered Badr el Din free rides throughout 2024 and a smartphone to help with his health problem, which limits his ability to move his lower body.
With the success of Badr el Din’s case, inDrive is considering launching the aforementioned program to attract users to the platform who are physically incapacitated but have the legal right to drive.
Badr el Din has stated that inDrive has restored his optimism for the future by helping him overcome all the obstacles that prevent him from leading a normal life, including working, getting married and socializing.
Although he was denied numerous opportunities to pursue a career, he never gave up hope in the face of setbacks. Instead, he chose to become a driver for inDrive and the result has been overwhelmingly sensitive.
“I’m a person with reduced mobility at the level of my lower body part. Before joining the inDrive family, I was losing hope in life because it was burdensome to work in any field. But after I got to know the inDrive application, my whole life has changed,” Badr el Din said while narrating his story.
“I felt that the job as a driver is what only fits my case. I applied for the application then started to gain money; after that I got married.”
Badr el Din’s Typical Daily Life
Badr el Din’s daily routine is a testament to an incredible amount of perseverance and determination.
Each morning before work, Badr el Din’s wife, neighbors, and friends help him get dressed and transfer from his wheelchair to his car. This demonstrates the importance of a solid support network in overcoming physical obstacles.
Badr el Din’s dedication to his work on the inDrive platform is demonstrated by his participation in the bidding process to receive the best proposals from users.
Despite physical challenges, he enthusiastically engages in the competitive side of the job, seeking to deliver the most favorable service possible.
Additionally, Moroccan operatives frequently contact Badr el Din to make sure his travels are going well. For drivers like Badr el Din, routine check-ins not only help to quickly resolve any possible problems but also help to build a sense of security and dependability.
InDrive Addressing Physical Hurdles
Anas Taoussi, Driver operation supervisor at inDrive Morocco, commented on the advantages of the program. “Such initiatives can have a positive impact on the lives of drivers who face harsh working conditions, especially when dealing with health issues,” he said.
According to him, inDrive is demonstrating its commitment to diversity and empathy in the workplace while also delivering helpful assistance by giving away free rides.
“It would be interesting to see how this initiative inspires other companies in other fields to take similar steps in supporting their local communities, contributing to a more compassionate society,” Taoussi argued.
