Morocco U17 team will face North Korea in the Round of 16 of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup 2025 on Tuesday, October 28 at 20:00 GMT. Morocco qualified from the group stage after a 3–1 win over Costa Rica, with four points, seven goals scored and four conceded.

North Korea are one of the favourites of the tournament  and the most successful team in U17 Women’s World Cup history. They have won the title three times (2008, 2016 and 2024) and have been in several finals. They are known for their balance between discipline, precision and efficiency in front of the goal.

In this edition, they topped their group with nine points, nine goals scored and three conceded.

A big test for Morocco

For Morocco, it will be a huge challenge but it could also be an exciting opportunity. The team has shown attacking ability and resilience, scoring four times in the group stage , more than they have ever done.  They also proved they can compete and develop confidence in their game and themselves.

Facing the most decorated team in the competition’s history will require tactical discipline, quick transitions and clinical finishing in big moments.

The match will be a clash of styles: North Korea’s structured, possession-based game against Morocco’s fast-paced, counter-attacking game driven by energy and home support.

For the hosts, it’s an opportunity to measure themselves against the benchmark of world football. They will have to stop North Korea from taking another step to prove their dominance on the world stage.

The October 28th showdown could be a defining moment in Morocco’s women’s football journey.
