Rabat – The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts more thunderstorms, hail, snowfall, and cold weather to continue in Morocco until Sunday.

In a new weather alert, the weather office forecasts strong local thunderstorms with hail on Friday in the provinces of Kenitra, Sale, Rabat, Larache, and Tangier-Assilah, where downpours will amount to 25-35 kilometers from 1 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The provinces of Agadir-Ida-Ou Tanane, Chtoua Ait Baha, Izegane- Ait Melloul, Troudant, Tiznit, Essaouira, El Jadida, Safi, and Sidi Bennour will experience rainfall from 1 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday. The rainfall will range between 40 and 60 millimeters.

Mohammadia, Benslimane, Berrechid, Settat, Chichaoua, Rehamna, and Casablanca will see rainfall between 20 and 40 kilometers on Saturday, along with Mediouna, Nouaceur, and Youssoufia.

Snowfall ranging from 10 to 25 centimeters above 1,500 meters in altitude is expected throughout Thursday night until 11 p.m. to reach the provinces of Midet, Boulemane, Sefrou, Ifrane, Al Haouz, Azilal, Ouarzazate, Al Hoceima, Taza, Taroudant, Chichaoua, Beni Mellal, Kenifra, Guercif, and Tinghir.

Snowfall with heights ranging from 10 to 35 centimeters are expected in Azilal, Beni Mellal, Ifrane, Sefrou, Boulemane, Al Hoceima, Ouarzazate, Taroudant, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Chichaoua, Khenifra, and Midelt from Saturday 1 a.m. to Sunday 11 p.m.

Strong winds ranging between 75 and 85 kilometers per hour are forecast on Saturday from 1 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the provinces of Safi, Chichaoua, Sidi Bennour, Essaouira, and El Jadida.

Cold weather will continue, with temperatures ranging between -7 and -3 degrees expected from Thursday to Sunday in several provinces, including Midelt, Boulemane, Tinghir, Azilal, Chichaoua, Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Taroudant, and Ifrane.
