Marrakech – Today, Hali Rahbani, the youngest son of Lebanese music legend Fairouz and the late composer Assi Rahbani, died at the age of 68.

Born in 1958, Hali Rahbani lived with physical and intellectual disabilities from birth and spent his life largely away from the public spotlight.

His death follows a long struggle with illness, according to reports.

The loss comes just six months after the death of his brother, acclaimed musician and composer Ziad Rahbani in July 2025.

Fairouz, widely regarded as one of the most influential and revered singers in Arab music history, rose to prominence in the 1950s through her groundbreaking collaborations with the Rahbani Brothers, Assi and Mansour.

Together, they shaped a modern Lebanese musical identity, blending folklore, poetry, and political reflection into songs that crossed borders and generations.

For decades, Fairouz’s voice became a daily ritual across Arab homes, especially in the mornings, symbolizing hope, nostalgia, and unity.

Behind this extraordinary public legacy, however, Fairouz’s personal life has been marked by profound loss.

Her marriage to Assi Rahbani ended with his death in 1986, a moment that deeply affected her both personally and artistically.

Despite her grief, Fairouz continued to perform selectively, maintaining a rare balance between privacy and public reverence.

For many, this latest loss is not only a family tragedy but a poignant reminder that behind one of the Arab world’s most immortal voices stands a woman who has faced heartbreak with grace, resilience, and unwavering privacy.
