Join on Telegram Rabat – Heavy rainfall and strong winds are expected to continue in several provinces across Morocco.
The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) said heavy rainfall between 90 and 120 millimeters is expected to affect Chefchaoun from this morning to Friday at 6 p.m.
The weather alert also forecasts between 60 and 90 millimeters of rainfall in the provinces of Al Hociema and Larache, from this morning to Friday at 6 p.m.
Rainfall between 30 and 60 millimeters is expected during the same period in the provinces of Fahs-Anjra, Ouezzane, Tangier-Assilah, M’Diq-Fnideq, Taza, Tetouan, Kenitra, and Taounate.
Strong winds between 75 and 85 kilometers per hour will affect the provinces of Tetouan, Tangier-Assilah, M’Diq, Fnideq, Tangier-Assilah, Fahs Anjra, Chefchaouen, Taza, and Guercif.
The same weather will hit Driouch, Al Hoceima, and Ouda Angad in the Oriental region from today to Friday at 6 p.m.
Government data shows Morocco registered a remarkable catch in water reserves. Dams across the country store nearly 9.2 billion cubic meters of water, raising the overall fill rate to 55.2%.
The number is nearly double the level recorded a year ago, with five full dams, including Oued El Makhazine, Charif El Idrissi, Ibn Battouta, Chefchaouen, and Nakhla.
The Bouregreg basin now has a filling rate of 96.2% filling rate, holding over 1 billion cubic meters.
