Rabat – Muslims across the United Kingdom are preparing to celebrate Eid Al Fitr, expected to fall on March 20.

Eid Al Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the holy month of fasting, and the beginning of Shawwal, the tenth month of the Islamic calendar.

Ramadan is a significant period for Muslims, commemorating the month in which the Quran was revealed to the Prophet Mohammad.

Celebrations typically begin with congregational prayers at local mosques in the morning, followed by gatherings with family and friends.

Tables are often filled with festive meals and traditional delicacies, while homes are decorated and gifts exchanged.

In keeping with Islamic principles, many Muslims also participate in Zakat Al Fitr, a charitable donation given before the end of Ramadan to support those in need.

In the UK, Muslim Charities Forum provides guidance through its Give Smart, Give Safe campaign to help donors ensure their contributions reach communities safely and effectively.
