Rabat – The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance in Morocco, Abdellatif Hammouchi, supervised the handover of apartments to 10 widows of police officers who died while performing their duties.
The ceremony took place on Tuesday at the venue hosting the “Open Doors” event organized by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in Rabat. The beneficiaries are widows of officers who died while serving the public and protecting citizens, a statement from DGSN said.
It added that the initiative reflects the ongoing social support provided to members of the national police force, especially the families of officers who died in the line of duty. It aims to recognize their sacrifice and provide better living conditions for their families.

Among the beneficiaries are widows of officers who died in different circumstances while on duty, including a police officer killed in the city of Immouzzer in an attack carried out by a mentally ill individual. Others are widows of officers who died in traffic accidents while carrying out operational tasks.
The statement added that DGSN has long emphasized the importance of improving the social welfare of police personnel and their families. It has strengthened the role of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Social Works of National Security Employees, providing it with resources to expand healthcare, social assistance, and welfare services for officers and their families.
The initiative is part of broader efforts by Moroccan security institutions to support families of fallen officers and improve working and social conditions within the police force. Similar programs in recent years have included housing assistance, financial support, and expanded healthcare coverage for security personnel and their dependents.
