Rabat – FIFA has officially appointed Brazilian referee Wilton Sampaio to officiate the 2026 FIFA World Cup Round of 32 match between Morocco and the Netherlands.
The match will be played on Tuesday at the Monterrey Stadium in Mexico. It is one of the most anticipated fixtures of the Round of 32.
Sampaio is one of FIFA’s most experienced referees. The 44-year-old Brazilian has been an international referee since 2013. He also officiated matches at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, including the Round of 16 game between the Netherlands and the United States.
Morocco reached the knockout stage after finishing second in Group C with seven points. The Atlas Lions drew with Brazil before beating Scotland and Haiti. The Netherlands topped Group F to set up this exciting meeting.
The winner of Morocco vs Netherlands will qualify for the Round of 16 and continue the dream of lifting the 2026 FIFA World Cup trophy.
