Rabat – Morocco’s Ministry of Education is joining forces with Royal Air Maroc to offer free round-trip tickets for Moroccan students preparing to sit for admission oral tests to France’s leading universities.

The initiative aims to remove financial barriers associated with travel expenses for successful applicants and is part of an ongoing agreement between the ministry and the national carrier, the ministry said in a statement.

Under the program, female and male students who are registered or have completed their studies in the higher school preparatory classes, or prepas, the staging ground for admission into the best schools in the French educational system, are eligible for free tickets.

The list of eligible students includes first-year and second-year prepas students, as well as those qualified to take oral exams for admission to French institutes and higher education institutions and are eligible for scholarships in Morocco for the upcoming academic year. The Education Ministry said in a statement it will put together the list of students eligible for the program.

In its statement, the ministry explained that Students eligible to benefit from the free tickets should complete the registration process for the French competitions through the portal of preparatory classes by June 11, 2023, at 2:00 PM, the ministry’s statement explained, adding that the registration can be done online via the following link: http://www.cpge.ac.ma/Cand/FormCF.aspx.

Following registration, a list of candidates who have successfully registered will be announced on June 12, 2023, on the official website of the Education Ministry www.men.gov.ma as well as on the official website of preparatory classes www.cpge.ac.ma.

A committee consisting of representatives from the ministry, Royal Air Maroc, and the coalition of preparatory classes in Morocco is set to put together the list. The selection process will take into account strict criteria, including school rankings and performance in written exams.

Once the candidates are selected, they will have 48 hours from the announcement of the results to confirm their acceptance. In addition, they must make travel reservations through the platform www.cpge.ac.ma (e-cape) at least five days before the scheduled travel date. This will enable them to specify their departure and return dates accurately.

The Education Ministry further noted in its statement that students from African countries studying in Moroccan preparatory classes are also eligible for the program.

The initiative highlights the government’s dedication to providing equal educational opportunities and support for Moroccan students pursuing higher education in France.

By removing financial barriers associated with travel expenses, the Education and Royal Air Maroc aim to empower talented students and enhance their prospects for academic success abroad, the ministry said in the statement.
