Rabat – Spanish club Real Betis is eyeing Moroccan footballer Abde Ezzalzouli for a potential transfer this summer, sports news outlet AS reported on Tuesday.
Ezzalzouli, who has played for Osasuna for a year on loan, is one of the club’s favorites for the winger position, added the Spanish outlet.
AS noted the 21-year-old’s “instrumental” role in Osasuna achieving their best season to date, reaching the Copa del Rey final and qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League after finishing 7th in La Liga.
Ezzalzouli scored six goals and provided two assists in the season.
FC Barcelona are looking to secure over 25 million euros for the Moroccan, which is an amount that can probably only be paid by Premier League clubs, the outlet also added, specifying that no offer has been close to that amount.
Thanks to his eye-catching performances, other clubs, alongside Real Betis, have been linked with the Moroccan winger.
German football club Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly also shown interest in obtaining his services.
According to sports news outlet SportsKeeda, Leverkusen is targeting the Atlas Lion as a priority ahead of the summer transfer window.
On the other hand, English football club Leeds United also showed interest in signing the winger.
Sports news outlet Football Today said that the English club is ready to propose an offer of £35 million to FC Barcelona to secure a deal with Ezzalzouli during the next summer transfer window.
However, with Leeds United having since been relegated to the EFL Championship and potentially undergoing a change of ownership, their capabilities to make any big deals in the summer might be compromised.
Additionally, they are unable to provide the allure of European football that Real Betis or Bayer Leverkusen can offer, as both teams will be playing in the Europa League next season.
