Rabat – King Mohammed VI will deliver this Wednesday the speech marking the 27th anniversary of his accession to the throne.
Morocco will mark the anniversary on July 30, an annual celebration and holiday in the country, honoring the achievements and milestones the monarch has achieved since he acceded to the throne.
The royal speech will be broadcast on radio and television on Wednesday, starting at 9 p.m. local time., noted a statement from the Ministry of the Royal Household.
King Mohammed VI ascended to the throne on July 30, 1999, following the death of his father, the late King Hassan II.
Since then, Morocco has witnessed waves of reforms that have deepened the country’s socio-economic development, revamped its critical infrastructure, and established it as a regional success story and leader in a wide range of strategic sectors. King Mohammed VI addresses Morocco’s people with speeches tackling several topics on Throne Day.
The monarch’s speeches usually cover topics including Morocco’s momentum in the Western Sahara dossier, as well as the socio-political and economic challenges the country is committed to addressing.
Last year, the royal speech focused on renewing the monarch’s commitment to Morocco’s development.
In his 2025 Throne Day speech, King Mohammed VI emphasized the country’s strategic priorities, describing Throne Day as an opportunity to assess national achievements while also attributing the country’s progress to long-term planning, political and institutional stability.
The monarch emphasized that Morocco has maintained steady economic growth and highlighted the fast-growing industries, including the automotive, aerospace, renewable energy, and tourism industries.
“It is also an opportunity to reflect on where the nation stands: the gains we have achieved, the projects to come, and the challenges lying ahead, as we look to the future with confidence and optimism,” the monarch said.
