Rabat – Morocco’s national carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), has again announced canceling a number of incoming and outgoing flights to Paris on March 11 and 12.

“Due to the Notice of strike on March 11 and 12 of the civil service, that was issued by the unions of the French DGAC, we are forced to proceed with the cancellation of some flights on the same day, from and to Paris,” RAM tweeted on Friday.

RAM attached to the statement a link for passengers to check whether their flights have been affected by the ongoing strike.

Annonce importante ?

Since the start of 2023, flights to and from France have been heavily disrupted on the backdrop of the ongoing workers’ strike.

The series of strikes came after Macron’s government announced plans to increase the retirement age from 62 to 64.

The decision fueled widespread public anger and triggered a nationwide backlash from French labor unions. The ensuing strikes are spreading across multiple sectors, with railway workers joining in to push back against the reform.

As worker unions are now proposing an open-ended strike, concerns are mounting over the crippling effect the decision would have on national mobility in the European country.

Reports indicate that around 39% of workers at the state rail operators joined the strike this week, marking the highest level of engagement since the start of the protests against the reform in January.
