Foxnews.com has published a list of Top 10 castle hotels worldwide, ranking La Mamounia of Marrakech 6th worldwide.
Castello Delle Quattro Torra in Italy tops the top 10 list.
La Mamounia ranked 6th ahead of very famous palace hotels, such as Taj Lake Palace in Rajasthan, India and Oheka Castle Hotel & Estates in Huntington, New York.
Since its founding in 1923, La Mamounia has collected a number of international recognition and awards.
It was named the world’s Best Hotel Spa in 2011 by Condé Nast Traveller, Hotel of the year 2010 by Tatler Travel Guide 2010 and Best Resort 2010 by Travel and Leisure.
Displaying Moroccan style, completed with intricate patterns and arabesques based on Berber and Arab-Andalusian architecture, La Mamounia hotel is set in royal gardens, styled with Moorish opulence, with 209 rooms, including 71 suites, gardens, spa with hammams (Moroccan traditional bath) and three Riads.
