Rabat – Casablanca will soon host the Morocco Automotive Fair, an internationally recognized automotive show aimed to further the already growing automotive industry in Morocco as well as cement Morocco’s important economic role as a thoroughfare between foreign manufacturers and European and African consumers.

The event, hosted by “Pyramids International” in cooperation with “Atelier Vita,” will take place at the Casablanca International Fairground, an area of just under 2,000 square meters. Starting September 30 and ending on October 2, 2015, the exhibition will include opportunities to attend business workshops, cooperative meetings, and lectures.

The exhibition will include companies from Belgium, Portugal, France, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, China, Turkey, Romania, Lebanon, Thailand, and Tunisia as well as Morocco. Its aim is to build a network of automotive businesses domestically and internationally, aid in the creation of relationships, develop companies, and ideally promote future business.

A Press Release from June 19 of this year from Morocco Automotive Fair states, “The port of Casablanca is one of the largest artificial ports in the world, and the largest port of North Africa, so Morocco Automotive Fair will bring a great acceleration to the automotive industry.” The same report notes that the Moroccan Automotive Fair will highlight Morocco’s growing role in industrial trade, as well as it’s logistical convenience, and large land reserves.

Considering the global economic crisis, automotive companies worldwide are searching for new economic opportunity. Morocco, because of its proximity to Europe and Africa and its political stability, presents itself as a desired destination for investment of automotive companies. For example, German company Volkswagen will soon open a manufacturing plant in Tangier following in the footsteps of other big players Renault, Peugeot, and Ford.
