Dunhuang – On the sidelines of his participation in the International Conference on New Silk Road, which opened on Tuesday in Dunhuang (3,000Km west of Beijing), King Mohammed VI’s advisor André Azoulay met with Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China, Liu Yandong, who hailed the exceptional momentum witnessed in the Moroccan-Chinese relations.
Liu Yandong stressed the shared viewpoints concerning strategies and choices made by Morocco and China, recalling that the latest official visit by HM King Mohammed VI to the People’s Republic of China opened the way to an unprecedented ‘qualitative leap’ as far as bilateral relations are concerned. Yandong noted the determining nature of the visa-exempt decision taken by Morocco for the benefit of Chinese tourists visiting Morocco, recalling that, each year, 125 million tourists travel around the world and that if only 1% of them visited Morocco, it would mean an additional one million tourists for the Kingdom.
After underlining that the threshold of 1,000 Moroccan students in China was about to be attained, the Chinese official highlighted similarity in choices made by China and Morocco regarding renewable energy and solar energy.
