The artist designed the upcoming shoe using the natural color palette of Morocco: rose, gold leather hints, paired with a black mesh.
The artist said that the Air Max’s new design comes out of a recent visit to the seaside town of Essaouira.
“I found Morocco, and it was perfect,” said Skepta. “Everything I wanted to feel about peace, I found it there.”
In Morocco, Skepta says in a video showcasing the new design, he saw “how people would wear, like, casual, practical wear, but just the embroidery alone would make it look royal.”
Skepta is now a household name thanks to his years of work in the UK grime and hip-hop scene.
