Rabat – The Directorate of National Meteorology (DNM) has announced heavy rainfall from Friday, December 15 to Saturday, December 16 and cold weather from Monday to Wednesday in several provinces of Morocco.

Heavy rains ranging from 30 to 45 millimeters are expected from this Friday at 7 p.m. until Saturday at 9 a.m. in the provinces of Larache, Chefchaouen, Ouezzane, and Kenitra, indicates the DNM in a Meteorological Alert.

The DNM also forecasts locally moderate rain or showers varying between 15 and 25 millimeters during the same period in the provinces of Rabat, Salé, Sidi Slimane, Taounate, Skhirate-Temara, Mohammedia, and Casablanca.

Cold weather is expected in the provinces of Ifrane, Azilal, Al Haouz, Beni Mellal, Midelt, Boulmane, Jerada, Taourirt, and Figuig from Monday to Wednesday.

The minimum temperatures will vary between -6 and 0 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperatures should reach 3 to 7 degrees Celsius. The regions of Khenifra, Sefrou, El Hajeb, Khemisset, Taza, Guercif, Oujda, Chefchaouen, Al Hoceima, Driouech, Errachidia, Ouarzazate, Zagora, Berkane, Chichaoua, Ouezzane, and Taounate will also experience a cold weather, with minimum temperatures varying between 0 and 3 degrees Celcius and maximum temperatures between 8 and 13 degrees Celsius.

The cold wave may persist in these areas during the rest of the week, according to the DMN.
