Rabat – Luxury and travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler listed Morocco’s La Mamounia hotel in Marrakech among the 50 best hotels in the world, with the Moroccan establishment topping the list for the third time.

The magazine said that few hotels are “as synonymous with their destination as La Mamounia,” adding: “If you don’t end up overnighting in one of this former palace’s tiled guest rooms, it’s almost as though you were never in Marrakech.”

La Mamounia’s managment celebrated the news on their social media. “Today is a historic day for La Mamounia and all of its teams! La Mamounia has been named Best Hotel in the world for thr third time by Conde Nas Traveler,” Pierre Jochem, the general manager of the Marrackech-based hotel, said in a statement on Facebook. “I would like to express our gratitude to all the staff, our guests and our partners! We still have great stories to write and great emotions to share together.”

La Mamounia is a luxurious, coveted hotel that is highly sought-after among high-profile tourists who visit Morocco’s Marrakech.

The hotel is renowned for receiving multiple awards for its architecture, luxurious hospitality, and features.

“Inside its hammam, a mosaic of blue, red, and pine-green tiles, are cherry therapists who offer clay body wraps (head down early for a pre-treatment dip,” the magazine wrote to describe hammams or traditional spas in the hotel.

The magazine also described the hotel as incredible.

“In the incredible bedrooms, the sweeping Moorish curves on the balcony doors are emulated in the archway to the bathrooms, themselves a symphony of tilework  and gold-framed mirrors,” the magazine writes.

La Mamounia’s impressive and prestigious architecture and features attracted many renowned lifestyle and giant news websites, resulting in major media coverage of the hotel.

Earlier in September, US travel magazine, Travel+Leisure, identified La Mamounia as among the 2021 World’s Best Awards.

In addition to La Mamounia, Royal Mansour in Marrakech and the Four Season Resort were also among the list of hotels.
