Rabat – Morocco’s National Library is the first stop of the Finland-Maghreb exposition taking place from November 25 to December 6, 2021.
Organized by the Finish ministry of foreign affairs, the exposition commemorates 60 years of diplomatic ties between the Nordic country and the three North African countries: Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.
The exhibition, prepared by the National Finish Archive in collaboration with Rabat’s National Library, showcases Finish art centered around the theme of successful diplomatic relations uniting Finland with the North African countries since the dawn of the 19th century.
Morocco’s National Library is just the first stop for the exhibition which will depart on December 6, to other cities within Morocco before opening its doors for Algerian and Tunisian audiences.
The event is free of charge, creating a space to appreciate and value the multifaceted relations bonding the nations together, spanning economic, cultural and, historic relations.
Morocco and Finland have been stepping up bilateral ties in recent years, with Finland establishing Finland Business Morocco, an organization operating under the umbrella of the Finish Ministry of Employment and Economy, aiming to provide aid for Finish businesses expanding in Morocco, the MENA region, and Africa.
On November 24, the Finish Embassy in Morocco, the Moroccan Embassy in Finland, and Finland Business Morocco collaborated to host an online webinar, aiming to introduce Scandinavian companies to the Moroccan market as a gateway to Africa.
The webinar featured experts, decision-makers, as well as Finish entrepreneurs recounting their success stories in operating within the Moroccan market.
Most notably, the webinar featured a presentation by Nokia’s representative explaining that Morocco’s friendly business environment and rich labor market are among the criteria that contributed to Nokia’s decision to establish one of its major African headquarters in Morocco.
In recent years, Morocco’s ramped up its effort to cultivate a friendly business environment and promote itself as such. Its latest effort, the Morocco Now investment brand, showcases Morocco’s competitive labor market, and openness to markets with over one billion customers through Morocco’s 54 Free Trade Agreements.
