Rabat – New details have resurfaced in the Hassan I University sextortion case, with a sextortion victim presenting the authorities with hard evidence incriminating a professor already arrested on human trafficking charges.
According to various news sources, the victim told the police that after repeatedly suffering from sexual harassment, she was encouraged by a fellow university student and member of a students’ union to film the professor engaging in sextortion acts.
The case documents, presented for court deliberations today, indicate that the victim acquired the spying camera with the help of a member of the students’ union, which she then attached to her handbag, according to the same sources.
The victim was able to record the disgraced professor in sex acts and delivered the incriminating videotapes as well as Whatsapp conversations to the students’ union member.
During police hearings, the students’ union member confirmed that the victim on different occasions complained to him of being sexually harassed by the university professor. However, he denied any involvement in the videotape scheme.
When faced with the new hard evidence, the professor, under charges of exploitation and human trafficking, told the police that he was indeed involved in an affair with the student leveling charges against him. But he denied forcing her into a nonconsensual sexual relationship with him.

The case includes 12 incriminating videotapes of the professor.
As out-of-wedlock sex is illegal under Moroccan law, the alleged sex predator’s confession is likely a feeble attempt to drive away more severe charges of human trafficking for charges of out-of-wedlock sex.
In November, the taped professor came under investigation along with other four university professors at the Law and Economics Faculty at Hassan I University in Settat, for sexually extorting female students for grades.
The professors are facing a list of charges including corruption, sextortion, and human trafficking.
