Rabat – The British embassy in Morocco will organize two Chevening Scholarship info sessions in the Moroccan cities of Meknes and Rabat, with the aim of presenting the eligibility criteria and application process to Moroccans interested in pursuing their studies in the UK.

The info sessions will take place on September 29 at the Moulay Ismail University in Meknes at 4 pm, and on October 3 at the Faculty of Law, Economics, and Social Sciences (FSJES) Agdal, Mohammed VI University in Rabat at 4:30 pm.

Chevening representatives from the UK Embassy are set to provide detailed presentations for Moroccans interested in applying for the fully funded scholarship to study a one-year Master’s degree in the United Kingdom.

Applications for the scholarship opened on August 2 and will be available online until November 1. Over 1,500 scholarships will be offered worldwide this year for the 2023-2024 academic year.

The scholarship is destined toward “individuals from all backgrounds who can demonstrate that they have the commitment, skills and experience required to create a positive change, and can show how a UK master’s degree will help them implement that change,” said Hayat Adrane, Chevening Officer at the British embassy in Morocco.

Since its launch in 1983, the program has supported more than 50,000 professionals, including 242 Moroccans. In addition to professional and cultural opportunities, the program offers the beneficiaries access to more than 12,000 courses at more than 159 British universities.

Earlier this month, the British embassy welcomed this year’s Moroccan cheveners, as well as their families and friends, at the Ambassador’s residence before heading to the UK.

“An exceptional educational and cultural adventure awaits them,” said the British embassy in Rabat on Twitter.

“We [are] bringing together incredible people from around the world and supporting them, through education, to achieve their goals,” said Naomi Rayner, Head of Scholarships at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO).
