Rabat – Morocco’s right-back Noussair Mazraoui is currently undergoing a medical checkup after he was injured during Morocco’s game against Croatia on Wednesday.
The severity of the injury and whether he can be part of the Moroccan team in the upcoming game against Belgium on November 27 remain unclear, converging reports argue.
The injury happened during the match forcing him to leave Morocco’s opening game at the World Cup Qatar 2022. Morocco’s national team coach Walid Regragui was forced to replace Bayern Munich’s right-back with defender Yahia Attiyat Allah.
Morocco and Croatia finished their match on November 23 with a 0-0 draw. The two teams were awarded one point each.
During the game, the Atlas Lions showed great resilience fending off their opponent’s attacks while making several scoring attempts.

The game’s lineup featured some of Morocco’s best football players, including Hakim Ziyech, Achraf Hakimi, Noussair Mazraoui, Sofiane Boufale, and Youssef En-Nesyri.
The North African country and Croatia are both in Group F in addition to Belgium and Canada.
Morocco’s coach had previously described the group as a “group of death,” but he then emphasized that the Atlas Lions will not shy away from the challenge.
“We have good players… We are ready to give the maximum and to please our supporters,” Regragui said at a conference in the lead-up to the opening game.
After facing Croatia and Belgium, Morocco is set to face Canada on December 1.
