Rabat – The Rabat Business School of the International University of Rabat (UIR) on Wednesday organized the third edition of its “Careers Expo,” which connects students and young graduates with companies with the aim of securing internships or employment opportunities.

The event served as a platform of exchange, whereby students and young graduates from the Rabat Business School had the opportunity to meet representatives from over 20 national and multinational companies, to guide them on their hunt for job opportunities.

The Careers Expo featured stands of all the participating companies, with fresh graduates lining up with their CVs looking for their first job, as well as current students seeking internship opportunities.

Company representatives shared information about their businesses and began the “speed recruiting” process during which students and employers engage face-to-face.

The event is “amazing for companies and the corporate world to meet with our students,” the director of development, corporate relations, and executive education at Rabat Business School, Sara Bennani, told Morocco World News.

“We have a lot of good students,” Bennani stressed. The event aims to familiarize students with the corporate world and the recruitment process, as well as give them the opportunity “to seek opportunities of jobs and employability.” The event is “already a big success,” she emphasized.

Emeline Ducrest, a representative of French sporting equipment company Decathlon, told Morocco World News that the Careers Expo is “really interesting” for the company as it allows them to meet lots of candidates in one day.

Highlighting the event’s positive atmosphere, Ducrest said: “We can see a lot of motivation … different profiles too … so it is really interesting for us to match our needs with the candidates here in the Rabat Business School.”

In addition, she highlighted the benefit of the event for students, who “can meet several companies on the same day.”

New Horizons

Third-year student at the Rabat Business School Amjad Ouhani, said the Careers Expo serves as a great opportunity for students and recent graduates who are looking for internships or job opportunities to build their professional networks and broaden their horizons.

“I am looking forward to benefiting from the event and having interviews with recruiters from the participating companies,” Ouhani told Morocco World News.

Meanwhile, Sofia Nassiri, a third-year human resources major student discussed the difficulty to find internships, especially for those why have not graduated already.

“The Careers Expo will benefit everyone, the graduate and the undergraduate students,” Nassiri said.

The participating companies offer opportunities for both students seeking internships and those seeking permanent positions. “It is the perfect match,” she emphasized.
