Rabat – Zakaria Aboukhlal has been linked with several clubs for this summer’s transfer window, with most reports suggesting that the Moroccan forward could move to the highly rated English Premier League, away from his current club FC Toulouse in France’s Ligue 1.

According to the Daily Mail, the English Premier League Brighton is currently eyeing Aboukhlal and is considering a €7 million move for the Toulouse winger, who delivered remarkable performances this season in Ligue 1 by scoring 10 goals and making 5 assists.

But the English club could face competition from Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen, who are both said to be interested in the Moroccan forward’s profile.

The 23-year-old player is widely expected to leave Toulouse this summer before the end of his contract in 2026.

In addition to his relatively prolific season with Toulouse, Aboukhlal enjoyed enjoyed a superb World Cup journey in Qatar, featuring on a Moroccan national team that made history by becoming the first Arab and African team to reach the semi-finals

Toulouse FC won the Coupe de France this season and finished the season with 48 points and ranked 13th in the overall French championship standings.

However, controversy ruined Abouklhal’s post-Coupe de France joy as a news outlet falsely accused the Moroccan forward of holding misogynistic views and disrespecting a female official during an event Tourlouse FC had organized to celebrate their winning of the coupe de Face trophy.

Prior to that, Aboukhlal and four other Toulouse players — Moussa Diarra, Fares Chaibi, Logan Costa, and Said Hamulic — had sparked controversy in May with their refusal to wear a jersey bearing the LGBTQ+ movement.

In addition to his relatively prolific season with Toulouse, Aboukhlal enjoyed a superb World Cup journey in Qatar, featuring on a Moroccan squad that made history by becoming the first Arab and African national team to reach the semi-finals.
