Rabat – Manchester United are reportedly determined to secure the services of Sofyan Amrabat this summer.

According to Italian outlet Football Italia, the Premier League club have made a tempting offer to the Moroccan international to convince him to join the club.

After negotiations with Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona failed, Sofyan Amrabat is closing in on Manchester United. The English giants have offered to double the Fiorentina player’s salary if he joins Old Tafford.

On the other hand, ACF Fiorentina are still demanding the sum of 30 million euros to let the Moroccan midfielder go, as he continues to be pursued by other top clubs such as AC Milan.

The Atlas Lion has made a name for himself over the past year, as he shone for the Atlas Lions at the 2022 World Cup. He also played a key role in Fiorentina’s 2022/23 campaign, helping them reach the Coppa Italia and UEFA Conference League finals.

Manchester United is reportedly making serious attempts to recruit Amrabat and has recently increased communication with the player’s representatives, according to sources from the Spanish newspaper Sport.

The midfielder had made clear during the January transfer window that he wanted to join FC Barcelona. At the time, Fiorentina declined any loan or transfer proposals, especially since the Catalan club’s offer was submitted on deadline day.

Amrabat’s contract with Fiorentina is set to end next year, so this summer is Fiorentina’s last chance to make a profit on the Moroccan midfielder. As per international transfer rules, Amrabat can start negotiating with other clubs for a free transfer once there are six months left on his contract.

The Red Devils now have additional finances available for player acquisitions after their UEFA Champions League qualification, and they are eager to work out a deal to get Amrabat to Old Trafford.
