Rabat – Morocco’s international football player Zakaria Aboukhlal is currently the top scorer for the French football club Toulouse FC in French Ligue 1.
According to statistics from the French league page, Aboukhlal is the leading Toulouse player in terms of goals scored during the current season so far.
While playing with the team last season, Aboukhlal scored 15 goals in both Ligue 1 and the French Cup.
The Moroccan international played a significant role in Toulouse’s victory in the French Cup in the previous season, contributing with five goals throughout the tournament.
So far this season, the Moroccan striker has managed to score two goals, one against Nantes in the league opener and another against Paris Saint-Germain.
Aboukhlal’s outstanding performances during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar with the Moroccan national team put him in the international spotlight, with a number of European Clubs expressing their interest in signing him.
In recent months, he has also been linked with several clubs for this summer’s transfer window, with most reports suggesting that the Moroccan forward could move to the English Premier League.
According to the Daily Mail, Premier League Brighton and Hove Albion is currently eyeing Aboukhlal and is considering a €7 million move for the Toulouse winger.
The English club could face competition from Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen, who are both said to be interested in the Moroccan forward’s profile.
The 23-year-old player is widely expected to leave Toulouse this summer before the end of his contract in 2026.
