Rabat – In a recent post on his Instagram account, Gad Elmaleh expressed his shock at the tragedy that struck Morocco last Friday. Immediately after the incident, he announced that he wanted to organize a charity event to help the victims of the earthquake.
The Moroccan comedian announced on social media that he will hold a show called “Show solidarité Maroc” on October 2 at the Palais des Sports in Paris at 8 p.m. local time.
The show will last one hour and a half, with two 15-minute segments for each comedian, and inter-sketches between them. Ticket prices range from 75 to 300 euros, and are available by clicking at the following link: https://www.gadelmaleh.com/

On stage will be Gad Elmaleh and his fellow comedians Redouane Bougheraba and Roman Frayssinet.
Elmaleh, who is calling for “unity and solidarity,” has pledged that all proceeds will be donated to the “Special Fund for the Management of the Effects of the Earthquake that Hit the Kingdom of Morocco,” set up by the Moroccan government to provide emergency aid to the victims of the tragedy that struck the country late last week.
“We have to do something concrete, because we have to rebuild the villages and the schools,” the comedian told Le Parisien newspaper.
“It’s a catastrophe, they’ve got nothing left. There’s psychological support, mental support, emotional support, patriotic support, whatever you want, but they need money to get back on their feet. It’s as concrete as that.”
In the same interview, the Casablanca native explained that his “family wasn’t directly affected by the earthquake because they live in Casablanca, but the Moroccans are my family.”
He concluded: “It’s very hard. I’m connected to them all the time. But the outpouring of solidarity is beautiful and reassuring.”
