Rabat – Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) has set up two mobile bakeries in the Tahanaout district, close to Marrakech, to provide bread to those who were affected by the earthquake that occurred there last Friday.

These integrated bakeries consist of portable bread preparation and baking machines hauled by trucks to the site. High-capacity kneading machines, baking ovens, and bread preparation equipment.

The two mobile units have a daily output capacity of 6,200 to 8,000 baguettes. If necessary and upon request, this number may be increased.

The DGSN has mobilized 42 employees to ensure continuous operation as well as two medical professionals to ensure sanitary and safety conditions.

Local government authorities are in charge of distributing the bread to the affected populace.

In a recent press release, the DGSN-DGST said that its Director General Abdellatif Hammouchi decided to make a monetary donation of MAD 50 million ($4.9 million) to the Special Fund on behalf of the organization’s entire civil staff.

The DGSN-DGST has also launched a blood donation drive among its civil employees.
