Rabat – Huawei Morocco has announced the launching of the fourth edition of the Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024, in collaboration with the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation.

The international competition offers Moroccan students and young talents from across the world the opportunity to enhance their Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills and explore a promising future in this constantly evolving field, said the Chinese tech company in a press release.

Building upon the success of previous editions, the Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 aims to further support the development of a sustainable digital ecosystem in Morocco and to help young talents refine their abilities and access opportunities.

Notably, in the 2019-2020 edition, a Moroccan team claimed the top prize in the Cloud category, added the statement.

With the new edition of the competition, Huawei Morocco is reaffirming its commitment to the education and training of Moroccan youth, with hopes that the competition will serve as the ideal platform for participants to showcase their expertise and creativity in the realm of ICT.

Huawei has launched a national roadshow in several Moroccan institutions to ensure that as many students as possible can discover the program and participate.

This year’s edition will revolve around three key areas; Cloud, network, and computing, with the aim of meeting the expectations of young talents and boosting their performance.

After registration, which is open until November 9 through the following link, students will undergo a pre-designed learning program to prepare for the national phase, scheduled for November 2023.

The highest-ranking Moroccan students in this phase will then form teams to compete in the regional phase alongside other countries in the region.

Selected regional teams will have the opportunity to represent their respective countries in the international phase of the competition.

Successful candidates will also have the chance to represent Morocco in a “unique technological experience” during the global phase of the competition, which will take place in China.

The competition will award the participants with several awards to recognize their performance. They will also have the opportunity to join the “Digitech Talent” network, which promises to pave the way for “exciting professional opportunities.”

In addition, students will be able to participate in the ICT Job Fair event, one of the largest recruitment forums in Morocco sponsored by Huawei. The company said that it will be one of the most “enticing” opportunities for students to find internships or jobs that align with their career goals.

The Chinese tech giant noted that the ICT Competition program aligns perfectly with its values and vision for Morocco, which include nurturing talent, fueling the growth of the ICT sector, and driving economic progress through its various programs and initiatives.
