Rabat – Huda Kattan, the Iraqi-American makeup artist and CEO of Huda Beauty, has taken a firm stance in support of Palestine despite threats from pro-Israel trolls online threatening to boycott her brand.
Kattan has been posting regularly on the social media platform X on the developments of Israel’s ongoing war on the Gaza Strip despite backlash from pro-Israel followers who have threatened that her support for Palestine will lead to a boycotting campaign targetting her brand.
“I don’t want blood money,” she simply responded to a comment from a follower who said that “no Israeli will buy” her brand anymore.
Since the start of Israel’s intensive air raids on Palestinians, Kattan has also reposted a series of videos and news articles depicting the suffering of the Palestinian people under Israeli fire.
On October 14, the influencer posted a video of mass protests in London, England, and in the caption, she encouraged people to stand against “the genocide and Ethnic cleansing” in Palestine.
On the same day, the influencer posted on Facebook a short video denouncing misinformation surrounding her stance on the Israeli-Palestine conflict.
“Somebody just sent me a message that there are ads with my face and an Israeli flag saying I stand with Israel being advertised,” she said. “I just want you guys to understand the extent to which the media manipulation is happening.”
Israeli aggression continues in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, with the death toll rising to at least 2,750 Palestinians since Saturday, October 7.
The intensive Israeli shelling has also caused injuries among over 9,700, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said on Monday.
Israeli troops have killed at least 58 people in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem.
