Rabat – Moroccan national team striker Ayoub El Kaabi described the warm atmosphere around the squad’s preparations to face Tanzania on November 21 in the Tanzanian city of Dar es Salaam, as part of the second round of qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
El Kaabi said that the training session is taking place in a “family and brotherly” atmosphere, and all the players are focused on their first match of the World Cup qualifiers against their Tanzanian counterparts, aware of the difficulty of the task that awaits them in this match.
“We are aware of what is coming and hope to achieve positive results,” El Kaabi said before thanking Moroccan fans who “always support us in our ups and downs.”
Morocco had two training sessions at the Mohammed VI Complex, the first of which took place on the evening of November 13, and the second on the evening of November 14.
The Atlas Lions are also likely to hold two additional sessions, one later today and the second on November 16 before making their way to Tanzania on November 17.
Head coach of the Moroccan national team Walid Regragui, unveiled on November 9 his team for the forthcoming 2026 World Cup qualifying matches.
The selected goalkeepers include Yassine Bounou, Munir El Kajoui, and Mehdi Benabid.
Among the defenders being called up are Ghanem Saiss, Nayef Aguerd, Adel Abqar, Yunis Abdelhamid, Achraf Hakimi, Ayoub El Amloud, Noussair Mazraoui, and Yahya Attiat Allah.
The selection in midfield comprises Sofyan Amrabat, Azzedine Ounahi, Yahya Jabrane, Ismael Saibari, Bilal El Khannouss, and Amir Richardson.
In the forward line, there are Hakim Ziyech, Sofiane Diop, Amine Harit, Youssef En-Nesyri, Tarik Tissoudali, Ayoub El Kaabi, Amine Adli, and Abdessamad Ezzalzouli.
Ahead of the match against Tanzania, Morocco was scheduled to play Eritrea on November 16, but the team decided not to participate in the qualifications.
