Rabat – The ultra groups of Morocco’s Wydad AC and Raja CA football clubs have been named among the best in the world for 2023, according to the Ultras World YouTube channel.
Wydad Casablanca’s ultras took the top spot in the video, while Raja fans ranked in fifth place according to Ultras World.
The ranking takes into mind the creativity and impact of the groups’ set designs, their use of pyrotechnics and tifos, as well as match attendance.
“We know that we can’t create a ranking on which everybody agrees. This video shows the groups which were chosen by the UW team,” Ultras World said on YouTube. “It’s a personal ranking and should not downgrade the actions of other groups who are not presented in this video.”
Ultras are a type of football fans known for their dedication to their teams and renowned for their fanatical support. They often use elaborate tifo demonstrations and musical devices such as drums to generate hype for their team.
The group commended the fan spirit of all ultra groups around the world, and mentioned several clubs as honorable mentions, including Morocco’s Olympic Safi and Hassania Agadir.
The ranking featured France’s Olympique Marseille in second place, as well as Poland’s Legia Warsaw, Austria’s SK Rapid Wien, Czech Republic’s Slavia Prague, Serbia’s Red Star Belgrade, Germany’s Dynamo Dresden, and Sweden’s Hammarby IF.
