Rabat – Travel website Tripadvisor listed Morocco’s metropole of Casablanca among its Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best Destinations Awards.

Tripadvisors has placed Morocco’s Casablanca as the 23rd Best of the Best destinations, out of 25 cities featured in this year’s travelers’ choice list.

The travel website highlighted Casablanca’s assets as “the most cosmopolitan and Western-feeling city in Morocco.”

“Casa (as locals call it) isn’t too touristy, but it’s the most cosmopolitan and Western-feeling city in Morocco,” Tripadvisor wrote while advising tourists to visit the King Hassan II Mosque and the city’s old medina.

“Today Casablanca is a large, modern city, but the former French colonial post still allows myriad movie moments for those who want to revisit love in the medina and Old City,” the magazine added.

Moroccan tourist destinations, including Fez, Marrakech, Tangier, and Casablanca are frequently recognized as must-visit places by renowned magazines and publications.

Recently, CNN highlighted Morocco as one of the top 24 must-visit destinations for the year 2024.

In October 2023, Lonely Planet also identified Morocco as a top travel destination for 2024.

Bloomberg shared a similar list, emphasizing the importance of Morocco’s tourism assets.

“Despite a destructive earthquake, Morocco had a record year in 2023, welcoming about 14 million travelers – 1 million more than in 2019,” Bloomberg wrote on January 2.

Last month, Marrakech was featured as the only Arab and African “Gem” in Airbnb’s 2024 must-visit destinations.

Morocco’s tourism revenues reached $9.8 billion at the end of November, an increase of 15.8% compared to a year earlier.

Data from the Exchange Office said today that Morocco attracted 13.2 million tourists as of November and revenues from the sector jumped from $8.5 billion to $9.8 billion.
